At least one person will be unhappy with this post. : ) but here’s what happened. the Student Representatives Council of Universiti Malaya had asked its president Afandy Sutrisno Tanjung to step down. why? Because he’s racist ! And this is bad. Being a racist in Malaysia is just as bad as Wilder’s “Fitna”. You naughty boy !
You can’t issue a public statement calling people to “berbangkit” because of “tindasan”. Berusahalah!”
Afandy, you might not know a low-profile guy like me. But here’s a piece of advice in case you are google-ing for your name on the internet. Actually i dont have any good advice. Just step down and stay away from politics.

A few friends of mine suggested that i should run for a MPMUM next election because of this,
….. “Marilah kawan-kawan kita bersama-sama berusaha dalam bulan peperiksaan ini supaya kita boleh membaiki nama Universiti dan menjadi manusia yang lebih berjaya. Ini adalah penting untik memastikan bahawa “ranking” UM dalam TIMES University Ranking adalah tidak lebih daripada tempat ke-589 dalam dunia ini. Berusahalah!”…..
I’m sorry fellas, i am only good at running on the track. Even in that, i always come in fourth place, behing Kim Kiat, Suhaimi and Theva Rao.
Writing comments for your own post seems pathetic at times..but who cares. No one is reading.
Super,its a very good

Student: I didn’t write racist letter
KUALA LUMPUR: A Universiti Malaya student leader has denied writing a letter that a group in the same institution claimed was racist.
Universiti Malaya (UM) Student Representative Council president Afandy Sutrisno Tanjung said someone had maliciously used his name and circulated the letter without his knowledge.
He said he had lodged a police report over the incident.
After the letter came to light last week, a group of UM undergraduates that billed itself as the Gabungan Mahasiswa Sedar issued a press statement and declaration calling for an end to racially-based policies and the divide-and-rule policy.
It also called on the Government to sign the International Convention on Civil and Political Rights and the International Convention on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, and to abolish any Acts that affected undergraduates’ freedom of speech and expression.
The group handed the statement to deputy vice-chancellor (student affairs and alumni) Assoc Prof Dr Azarae Idris.
The controversial letter was said to have called on some groups to be prepared for “any eventuality” because of the recent winds of change in the national political scenario and warned them not to allow the country to fall into wrong hands.
When contacted, Assoc Prof Azarae Idris said Afandy had sworn an oath that the controversial statement was not written by him.
“We consider the case closed as the statement was a total fabrication.
“With the use of modern technology, anything is possible,” he said.
He added that he did not see the need for Gabungan Mahasiswa Sedar’s statement.
“I do not know who or what is behind this.
“UM has never been racist. We are the most racially-diverse public university,” he said.
Yo, I beg to differ. It should be at least 2 person who would be unhappy with this post. Lol. I’m the second one after the victim. ;>
Firstly, I’m not siding him nor you. I’m just stating my views from a neutral person.
Let’s look at this from a reasonable man’s point of view. The question is would a reasonable man write an epistle which contains racist remarks given that he’s the head of a body whereby by doing so, he could jeopardise his reputation and another fact to be considered is he only has a few more months to complete his term? The answer would be a resounding NO.
You see, if he is that type of racist person, he could have done that in his previous term as the YDP or much earlier in his current term. Why would he choose to do it after the general elections? Why would he choose to be in the middle of the controversy when he could have made a more reasonable move by remaining quiet till the end of his term in August/ Sept? It’s for you to ponder.
I strongly believe that this is an act of sabotage, planned to humiliate him and oust him from completing his term for being unpopular with certain groups. I have analyzed the epistle and my findings are it is fake. I wrote them in my blog. Check out if you have the time.
Before I click on the submit button, I would like to reiterate that I’m not siding anyone nor to offend you with my comments. I would like to apologise if I have done so. Cheers! =>
Forgot to add something. Apart from my parents, it would be my last resort to defy you and Afandy as I regard both of you as my role models.
You – mind stimulating from your writings, academic, and taste for fashion.
Afandy – far-sightedness, ability to speak in public and thoughtfulness.
waaaat…? you mean public U is filled with this kind of Hidup Melayu crap ar? Or is it only in UM?
